7 Aspects Of Motherhood That Drive Us Crazy

7 aspects of motherhood that drive us crazy

It is the best time in a woman’s life, a miracle and a blessing. Being a mother is the best. They cover us with phrases like these, all true, of course, but there are still aspects of motherhood that literally drive us crazy.

This is a role we haven’t studied for, a time when none of the challenges and experiences have ever been experienced before. Motherhood is a path that we cross with a great store of hope and expectations, but also with many fears.

This list could be endless, but we have decided to limit it to 7 aspects because, to be honest, perhaps looking back now we will remember with pleasure those moments that made us lose our temper and completely lose our minds.

The 7 aspects of motherhood that drive us crazy

Limited time

When you become a mother, life turns into a constant race against time. Not having enough time becomes the new normal. This is one of the curses of all moms. Little time and what you have vanishes between your fingers.

disorder

Between childcare, home, work and all the daily chores, there is very little time left for us and for our little pleasures. In addition to all this, it almost seems that the world is proceeding in “accelerated” mode. Today we have a few months old baby in our arms and in the blink of an eye our son is already running around the house. The question of time is a real drama during motherhood.

Waking up early in the morning, even on weekends

Become intuitive. The biological clock resets after childbirth and reprograms itself to wake us up at the slightest noise, at dawn, in the early hours of the day. Even on weekends, you find yourself wide-eyed before any other family member, to meet the baby’s needs and prepare breakfast.

It’s a fact, you never sleep the same way again: the moment a baby is born, a mother’s heart is no longer in her chest.

Sleepless nights

During the first few months, the baby’s reversed schedules really drive him crazy. For a while, dark circles and sleepless nights become our closest companions. These are beautiful months, but also very intense. The newborn has to eat every two hours and wakes up in the middle of the night to satisfy his hunger. This will last a while, at least until the baby has a longer rest. In the meantime, we mothers just have to find a way to prevent sleepless nights from putting us in a good mood.

Advice no one has ever asked for

It is typical. Especially for first mothers, surrounded by large and close-knit families. Everyone wants to express their opinion on the best way to raise a child. Without sparing the details and sometimes even being rude, they need to let us know which, in their opinion, are the best tips to follow for raising and caring for a child. There is no other choice: we must arm ourselves with patience and tolerance and set very clear limits in respect of the family.

Lack of cooperation

When one becomes a mother, one feels suffocated by so many new responsibilities.  Although there is an army behind us taking care of us and the baby, we still feel that they are not doing their job as they should or, even worse, we feel alone. Our partner’s lack of cooperation, and tact, makes us lose our minds. This is perhaps one of the reasons why more discussions arise at this stage of the relationship. A tip: communicate.

Mood swings

Hormones go high during and after pregnancy. The much discussed postpartum depression shows up on our doorstep, and if we can’t work with it, it stays with us for a long time. In this regard, relaxation exercises are excellent, it is also recommended to take a break and, if necessary, seek therapeutic help to regain balance.

Lack of personal space

After giving birth, you are no longer alone with your partner. This is a big change, but one you get used to quickly. The warmth of the child, the unconditional love we feel for our child will make us wish we didn’t have to be away from him for too long. This is a new family dynamic that is worth enjoying, even with all the aspects of motherhood that make us go crazy.
