A pregnant woman does not differ much from another pregnant woman, it is even possible that the age difference is not even noticed. In general, motherhood makes women more beautiful, enlightens them and transforms their energy into will and good intentions. Thanks to this, all obstacles can be overcome, no matter if the woman is 22 or 45 years old.

As is well known, there are risks of a clinical nature when mothers are over forty, but if we consider that risks can always arise, no woman is immune to them, even at thirty. It is no coincidence, in fact, that the number of pregnancies among women over 40 is constantly increasing.

Similarly, the number of pregnancies among women aged 30 and over has doubled. Furthermore, in Italy, an increasing number of women are considering the possibility of a pregnancy at forty-five, an age that has so far been accused of being incorrect.

The so-called “biological clock”, although thought to be a myth, has made it possible for most pregnancies over the age of forty. The fact that the biological clock is activated from the age of twenty or thirty, in fact, does not indicate that it is the right age to become a mother.

If we have already expressed the desire to be mothers, even if we have not concretely planned it, when that day comes our life will be filled with joy. In any case, if the biological clock is already active, the news will be happy at any age.

What do the experts claim?

According to experts, a young woman  in general has greater advantages in case of pregnancy. This means that she is more resistant to pregnancy, runs a lower risk of complications, the fetus is less likely to have abnormalities, and is more active in rearing the baby.

For experts, therefore, the right age to become a mother goes from 22 to 25 up to 30 ; From a medical point of view, the advantages of this age are due to the health of the mother during gestation, the ability to give birth and the willingness to raise the child, all factors which, according to science, become more complicated as the child progresses. ‘age.

Another advantage of the twenties is the higher chances of getting pregnant, as a young woman is more fertile. According to reproductive and fertility specialists, women between the ages of 30 and 35 enjoy 25% fewer fertility options.

However, some external aspects can represent a disadvantage for motherhood before the age of thirty. Factors such as professional career and the search for a social and economic balance hinder motherhood, which is why we try to postpone it.

On the other hand, several studies state that the ideal age could be 34 years. The results of these studies were obtained on the analysis of the clinical history of about three thousand women. However, there are not many specialists who agree with this statement, although there are reasons of a social, emotional and psychological nature that support it.

Always according to the experts, in order to be able to talk about the correct age, therefore,  we must consider the fertility, general health and social stability of the mother. For this reason, if we want to ensure a healthy motherhood in every sense, age will not be sufficient to determine it.
