There are many mothers who, while breastfeeding their children, may feel helpless and unable to overcome boredom due to not being able to do anything during this moment … If the same thing happens to you too, however, you need to calm down. Serve your baby serene and calm, so that he can feed and grow properly.

Yet, even if you keep quiet and assume that breastfeeding is not something easy for you because you get bored, the reality is that those long moments can make you feel unproductive… Always within certain limits, though. Remember that you are feeding your baby and that what you are doing is an activity of the utmost importance.

The good news is that all is not lost and that you can change some of your habits to feed it well and that you are also able to overcome boredom while in one of these long breastfeeding sessions, which you happen to have. mid-morning or in the middle of the night. But what can you do to overcome boredom while breastfeeding your baby?

breastfeeding can offer many opportunities to engage in often neglected activities

Meditate

This is a wonderful opportunity to focus on your inner self and meditate. Meditation is good for you, your life, your emotions and your happiness. You just need time to devote to yourself and to your inner self. What better way than to do it together with your baby while you feed him?

It is a way to find your inner peace. Close your eyes and allow your soul to relax. You will enjoy these short meditation sessions that will help calm the anxiety of being a mother and, who knows, you may also immediately feel much calmer and have the feeling of having great power over your life. It is a wonderful way to dedicate to yourself these moments that your baby gives you!

Read to overcome boredom

We know it well: being a mother does not allow us to find much time for ourselves and reading can become a utopia. Well: the moment you breastfeed your baby can be a great time to sit down and read quietly. Your baby will not try to provide you with topics of conversation and, therefore, will not distract you from reading at any time.

You can go back to being a bookworm and devour all those books you left on the shelves. You can also take advantage of it to listen to some atmospheric music and thus read more comfortably. Do yourself a favor, though, and avoid reading books that have to do with the baby… Read a novel or any other reading that makes you feel good or imagine new worlds.

overcoming boredom while breastfeeding is easier than you think

Watching television

Breastfeeding can be your time to watch your favorite series or those programs you like to spend the little free time you have. Curl up on the sofa while you are feeding your baby is a good idea to spend the time pleasantly and overcome boredom.

It is a way to unplug and enjoy television, an activity that, however, you might consider overrated or unproductive. So, if you want to watch a movie, even if necessarily in pieces, you can take advantage of the time dedicated to breastfeeding your beautiful baby.

Communicate through social networks

You know perfectly well that being a mom to a baby is a time-consuming activity, which is why you may have had to neglect your friendships a bit. To remedy this problem, you can take the time you breastfeed your baby, updating your status on Facebook or replying to that e-mail that has been lying unanswered for some time in your inbox.

You can make a list of the people you would like to stay in contact with  and take advantage of breastfeeding time to maintain relationships.

Knit

If you like to knit, breastfeeding time can be perfect for weaving small hats or socks for your baby. Or you could make a scarf or gloves to give to yourself. You can weave what you like best, because you have enough time. Plus,  weaving is a great exercise for productive relaxation.

Of course, however, the best way to take advantage of these moments is to enjoy the bond that exists between you and the baby. A bond that will be stronger than you imagine from this moment on and that nothing and no one will ever be able to break.
